Israel Hernandez - Gesha

Israel Hernandez is a dedicated coffee producer from the municipality of Rioblanco in Tolima, Colombia, where he operates his 10-hectare farm, Buenos Aires. Nestled in the Andean mountains along the Magdalena River basin, Tolima’s high-altitude climate provides ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffees. In 2016, Israel planted 1,200 gesha seedlings alongside the more traditional castillo and caturra varieties, and just four years later, his gesha secured fourth place in the 2020 Colombian Cup of Excellence. A second-generation coffee grower with over 50 years of experience, Israel continues to refine his craft, recently expanding his production with a new farm, El Mirador.
